Anthony Bournet introduces the Rodin4D training courses

Anthony Bournet CPO trainer for Rodin4D

Anthony Bournet is CPO trainer for Rodin4D. He answers our questions about the organisation of Rodin4D training for orthopaedic CADCAM.

Rodin4D.com webmaster: Thank you very much for this interview about your CPO trainer's experience for Rodin4D. We will try to answer the users' main questions about the training organisation. How long have you been a CPO trainer for Rodin4D?

Anthony Bournet : I have been an orthotist/prosthetist for 13 years and I've taken part in the Rodin4D development for 11 years. I am a certified trainer since 2003 at Lagarrigue and since 2004 for all our clients in France, Europe and North Africa.

Which users are concerned by these training sessions?

Anthony Bournet: These training sessions involve every CPO company that plan to help their technicians to keep up to date with the technological changes of our industry. Advanced training sessions are also offered to some of our clients to help them improving their mastery of the software or discover our new features.

What is the aim of these training sessions?

Anthony Bournet: The main goal of theses training sessions is to master the Rodin4D CAD/CAM solution. CAD/CAM solutions have become more and more important for O&P companies since it provides precision and confort for the patients.

Can you describe these training sessions?

Anthony Bournet: These training sessions last for two days and take place in our Merignac offices, since we have a dedicated training room with computers, user manuals, a video projector, a notice board etc...

For some reason, trainings can sometimes take place at the clients' offices. When training, I insist on teaching 3 orthoprosthetists maximum at a time. It allows me to adjust my training to each person and for each person to better master the software.

After a two days training session, what are participants able to do? How long does it take to become self-sufficient?

Anthony Bournet: The goal of these courses is to be able to use all the R4D CADCAM tools. Of course, the software's mastery is not optimum after only two days because we concentrate on the most important things. I often ask participants to practice what they have learnt for at least two months. Afterwards, I keep following them using Internet tools and with the remote control of their computer, and we make the first orthopaedics modifications together. By the end of this period, we plan another training session to revise difficult or less skilled points if necessary.

How can we sign up for a training session?

Anthony Bournet: Training session registrations are really easy. You only have to contact the Rodin4D secretary at Merignac and ask for a registration. We are an authorised training centre and therefore the cost of the training sessions can be handled by your company's training centre, but it depends on your country's laws. By the way, training sessions almost always suggested to our new clients to help them become efficient quickly.

Are training sessions meant to evolve?

Anthony Bournet: Of course, training sessions are meant to evolve, for we are constantly developing new functionalities to make the R4D CADCAM software more efficient.
Training sessions can be very different, and sometimes I plan special custom made sessions grounded on the client's activities. For example, I can focus on specific orthopaedic devices such as femoral prosthesis, scoliosis body jacket or postural seats... The only thing which remains unchangied is the fact that training sessions are made by CPOs for CPOs.

What are the other ways to be trained to the Rodin4D solution?

Anthony Bournet: Even if the best trainings are those completed in our training centre, we offer multiple ways to be trained to the Rodin4D solution. For example, we offer a self training manual to help learn and discover the main functionalities with exercises.
